  • Country singer Trisha Yearwood says her husband, Garth Brooks, has been a “source of strength” during home quarantine.

  • “I live with a guy who always sees the bright side, so I think that he might need therapy once we get through this,” she said.

  • Yearwood and Brooks recently streamed a live concert on CBS, where they donated $1 million to coronavirus relief efforts.

On April 1, Garth Brooks and Trisha Yearwood delighted millions of fans by streaming another live concert, where they donated $1 million to coronavirus relief efforts. But in the midst of a pandemic, the country stars are trying to hold each other up, too. Home quarantine has taken a toll on Yearwood specifically, and she recently told Entertainment Tonight that Brooks has been her strength through it all.

“I live with a guy who always sees the bright side, so I think that he might need therapy once we get through this,” she said. “But he has been a really wonderful source of strength for me.” It’s clear that the rest of the country feels the same way, considering millions of people tuned in to their Facebook Live performance on March 24, causing it to crash multiple times.

Even if it’s from afar, fellowship by way of music is just as healing for Brooks and Yearwood as it is for their fans, because they too are experiencing anxiety related to the situation at hand. “I don’t know if it’s like this way at your house, but Ms. Yearwood is the one that wants to save the world from the virus,” Brooks said in a March 29 Facebook video. “So she’s scared to death of everything … she’s like, Mom.” He went on to explain that he, on the other hand, has spent most of his time concerned about its economic impacts. “Between the both of us, we got the worrying covered,” he added.

In another video, Brooks admitted that the pandemic will permanently change how he approaches life from now on. “I think all of our lives have changed from here forward,” he said. “I think we’re all gonna be a little more… I don’t know what you call it, sanitary, clean. Just gonna watch our Ps and Qs. This has been a real eye opener for me. I know because I’m not that guy,” he added, referring to the more germ-conscious. “My wife is, but I am not.”

New fears aside, every Monday, Brooks steps in front of the camera to film his Facebook series, #InsideStudioG, where he encourages everyone to stay strong, love one another, and show gratitude for workers on the front lines. “I think I love the whole upside-down of it all because the celebrities and the idols now are not the singers or the celebrities, the idols are the people that are in the grocery stores that are working and those doctors and nurses that are on the front lines in the hospitals,” Brooks told ET. “Those are the rock stars now. Love them, appreciate them, worship them. They have all of our strength in prayers.”
