Tristan da Silva, KJ Simpson earn Pac-12 MBB preseason all-conference honors
Oct. 25—The continued development of Tristan da Silva and KJ Simpson is one of the biggest reasons why the Colorado men's basketball team expects to offset the loss of Jabari Walker and Evan Battey.
Apparently, at least a few folks around the league believe big things are in store this season for da Silva and Simpson, as well. Those two landed spots on the Pac-12 Conference men's basketball preseason all-conference team on Monday, as voted on by the media. The team preseason poll will be announced on Wednesday as part of the Pac-12's men's basketball media day.
Da Silva, the 6-foot-9 junior from Germany, was a second-team selection while Simpson, a sophomore guard, received honorable mention. Da Silva shot .479 overall last season with a .373 mark on 3-pointers, averaging 9.4 points and 3.5 rebounds. Simpson was a Pac-12 All-Freshman team selection after averaging 7.4 points while leading the Buffs in assists (86) and steals (26).
Da Silva and Nique Clifford are scheduled to join head coach Tad Boyle in San Francisco on Wednesday for the Pac-12 men's media day.
