The body of Tristyn Bailey, 13, a seventh-grader at Patriot Oaks Academy in St. Johns, was discovered Sunday, May 9, 2021, hours after her family was reported her missing. She was stabbed 114 times.

Affordable housing complexes on the way
One of two new affordable housing apartment complexes under construction in St. Johns County is pre-leasing apartments, and the other is set to begin taking inquiries this month, project officials said.

World Golf Village getting new plaza
The Parkway Commons shopping center began construction in late 2021 and is expected to be completed with a mix of restaurant, retail and office tenants opening their doors in early 2023.

Students won't be charged in shark stunt
PETA has come out against the hanging of a dead shark by Ponte Vedra High School students last week and is offering to educate students in St. Johns County on the mistreatment of animals.

Ponte Vedra High School students paid fisherman for dead shark
Five PVHS students, all male, have been identified as being responsible for the stunt, which included paying $100 for the dead shark from a local fisherman and designing a "pulley system" used to hoist the animal.
