WOOSTER − Jennifer Farrar from Triway High School has been selected to be part of the Nourish the Future Teacher Leader Community, a national teacher leadership group, sponsored by the National Corn Growers Association and the United Soybean Board.

Nourish the Future (NTF) is an initiative developed by science teachers for science teachers. The goal is to inspire a network of educators to foster critical thinking, connect students to modern agriculture and provide science-based resources that meet teachers’ and students’ needs in the classroom.

Farrar was one of 25 chosen science educators nationwide. Farrar will receive specialized training.

“I am constantly seeking new lessons and curriculum to make my classes more relevant to my students,” Farrar said in a news release. “Educating future adults in the changes we need to feed and sustain the world is a passion of mine and I look forward to designing inquiry-based projects and lab experiences that inspire lifelong learners.”

Instructors will participate in a series of regional and national training events, including webinars and workshops. They will collaborate to create new curriculum for classroom use. The materials will be available on the Nourish the Future website for teachers across the country to access.
