Trojans Wire discusses Pac-12 media rights, San Diego State and Final Four

The San Diego State Aztecs are playing in the Final Four precisely when the Pac-12 Conference is considering them as a possible new member school, and also when the Pac-12 and George Kliavkoff are in the middle of an attempt to nail down a media rights package. It’s a very interesting weekend — insert your April Fool’s joke here — and so we are being asked by journalists from Big 12 country if this situation is going to evolve or have a firm resolution anytime soon.

Tyler Jones, a journalist, podcaster and commentator who is based in Dallas and grew up in Tulsa, brought us on his show to discuss these various interconnected topics: San Diego State, the Pac-12, media rights, realignment, and what lies ahead in this part of the college sports world.

It will be fascinating to see how San Diego State performs at the Final Four, and if that performance — and anything attached to it — might affect how the Aztecs and the Pac-12 are valued in the coming months and years.
