This tropical smoothie chain is sunning itself in Fond du Lac, despite the cold | Streetwise
FOND DU LAC – It's still February, but Fond du Lac's thinking tropical thoughts.
Fast casual smoothie chain Tropical Smoothie Cafe, 834 W. Johnson St., is now open in the former Aspen Dental office, and is one of 14 locations in Wisconsin.
Originating from Florida in 1997, the restaurant offers smoothies and sandwiches, and built its brand on being a bright and sunny place for any meal; after all, it was "born on a beach," according to its website.

The menu includes fruit blend smoothies with flavors ranging from berries to citrus and tropical fruits, as well as super veggie smoothies with spinach and kale, like the Island Green and the Avocolada. The Balanced Fusion smoothies feature ingredients like pea or whey protein, multivitamins, chia seeds or an energy boost in addition to the fruit or peanut butter
The smoothies also have an add-on option to get an edible straw, either strawberry or lime flavored.
Food items on the menu include sandwiches, quesadillas and salads, which all come with choice of fruit, chips or kale and apple slaw. Featured flavors are the hummus veggie or Caribbean jerk chicken wraps, Santa Fe chicken quesadilla, Thai chicken salad and the chicken pesto or peanut butter banana crunch flatbreads.
Breakfast items are also available, as well as a kids menu.
