Tropical Storm Hilary: These public spaces and school districts are closed Monday

People check out the waters from Hurricane Hilary as it flows through the Whitewater River at Dune Palms Rd. near the high school in La Quinta , Calif., August 20, 2023. The road is currenlty under construction and a new bridge is being built.

Tropical Storm Hilary made landfall in Baja California Sunday before traveling north to the U.S., bringing with it high winds and heavy rainfall that caused flash floods across Southern California.

With several roadways closed — including Interstate 10 eastbound and westbound between Gene Autry Trail and Bob Hope Drive — due to flooding Sunday night, several businesses, city structures and school districts have announced closures for Monday.
