Here's a roundup of closings and cancellations due to the impending threat of Hurricane Idalia moving into the Big Bend area as early as Wednesday. It's expected to strengthen to a Category 3 hurricane.

Schools: Leon County Schools to close Wednesday ahead of Idalia; Schools will open as shelters

Blue Tavern: 1206 N. Monroe St. The tavern will be closed Tuesday tonight and likely Wednesday.

Campaign kickoff for Corey Simon: Campaign event that was to feature about 200 participants for Florida Senator Corey Simon set for Aug. 29 at Proof has been canceled.

CAMPUS USA Credit: Closed on Wednesday. Will return to normal business hours as soon as possible.

City of Tallahassee: City offices closed Wednesday. Customer call center at 850-891-4968 available 24/7 starting at 8 a.m. Tuesday. City Hall and the Renaissance Building on Macomb Street will be closed to the public on Wednesday, Aug. 30. Additional updates about Hurricane Idalia response and recovery efforts will be posted on Talgov.com.

City of Tallahassee, Solid Waste: Residential and commercial collection services will complete normal operations Aug. 29, and be suspended Wednesday, Aug. 30.City of Tallahassee, Tallahassee International Airport: The airport will close at 11 p.m. Tuesday, Aug. 29. It will remain closed on Wednesday, with normal operations resuming Thursday morning. Customers are encouraged to verify the status of their commercial flight with their airline prior to heading to the airport.City of Tallahassee, StarMetro: Fixed routes will suspend regular service at 7:30 p.m. Tuesday, Aug. 29, or if winds reach 35 mph (whichever happens first), with no night service, and will not operate on Wednesday. Dial-a-Ride service will stop at 8 p.m. (or if winds reach 35 mph) on Tuesday and will not operate on Wednesday. Visit Talgov.com/StarMetro for route information. Free shuttle service will be provided from C.K. Steele Plaza to shelters at Rickards, Lincoln and Chiles from 7:30-9:30 p.m. Tuesday, Aug. 29.

City of Tallahassee, Recreation: The City’s Hilaman and Jake Gaither golf courses will close Tuesday, Aug. 29, at 6 p.m. and remain closed until further notice. All golfers need to be off the courses by closing. All recreational programs and facilities operated by the City, including the Senior Center and sports leagues, are suspended effective at 6 p.m. Tuesday and continuing Wednesday, Aug. 30.

Community Leadership Academy: Closed Wednesday.

Door Dash: Severe Weather Protocol activated. Operations suspended starting at 10 p.m. Tuesday in cities across Florida, including Tallahassee, Sarasota, St. Petersburg, Gainesville, Lakeland, and Tampa Bay.

Equality Florida: Sponsored TownHall for Thursday, Aug. 31, has been postponed.

The Focal Point: Office closed Wednesday.

Florida A&M University: Closed Wednesday-Sept. 5.

Florida State University and Florida State University School: Closing at noon Tuesday; Closed Wednesday through Friday. Monday is the Labor Day holiday.

FSU Museum of Fine Arts: Museum will be closed Wednesday. Exhibit "Intertwined" is scheduled to open on Thursday, Aug. 31. Reception will be postponed to a later date.

Keiser University: Closing 5 p.m. Tuesday, Aug. 29, and remain closed on Wednesday.

LeMoyne Arts: Closed on Wednesday. Planning to reopen on Thursday if the damage is minimal.

Leon County Government: Closed Wednesday.

Leon County Property Appraiser: Closed Wednesday.

Leon County Schools: Leon County School district will close all activities, including athletics, as of 6 p.m. Tuesday, Aug. 29, and will be closed on Wednesday, Aug. 30, and Thursday. Four schools will operate as shelters starting at 5 p.m. Tuesday at Chiles High School, Lincoln High School, Rickards High School and Fort Braden K-8 School. Schools will reopen Friday.

Leon County Schools "Little to Leaders": Event scheduled for Tuesday has been postponed. It will be rescheduled.

Maclay School: Closed Wednesday.

North Monroe Revitalization Breakfast by Commissioner Rick Minor: The breakfast hosted by Commissioner Rick Minor to reduce crime and address homelessness on North Monroe, which was scheduled for this Wednesday, has been postponed to Sept. 21 at 8:30 a.m. at the Days Inn on North Monroe.

North Florida Women’s Care: Closed Wednesday, Aug. 30, and Thursday, Aug. 31. They will reopen Friday, Sept. 1.

926 Bar & Grill: 926 W Tharpe St. Closed Wednesday. The monthly event "Dragged Out Wednesday" is cancelled for this month.

Second Judicial Circuit: All courts in Franklin, Gadsden, Jefferson, Leon, Liberty, and Wakulla counties will be closed Wednesday At this time, only courts in Franklin County, Jefferson County, Leon County, and Wakulla County will be closed Thursday, Aug. 31. St. John Paul II High School: Closed Tuesday and Wednesday.

Tallahassee Community College: Closed Wednesday.

Tallahassee Elks Charity Bingo: Cancelled for Wednesday.

Tallahassee Museum: The Tallahassee Museum and Tree to Tree Adventures will be closed on Wednesday. Plans to reopen Thursday, Aug. 31 pending the assessment of any damage and the safety for staff and the public.

State of Florida: Leon County state offices closed on Wednesday.

United Way of the Big Bend: Postponing the Annual Community meeting to 11:30 a.m.-1:30 p.m. Wednesday, Sept. 13, at Tucker Civic Center.

Walmart: All Tallahassee locations closing at 8 p.m. Tuesday and closed Wednesday.
