Watch live video in the module above as Tropical Storm Nicole, forecasted to strengthen to hurricane status overnight, approaches NASA's Kennedy Space Center in Florida.

Nicole is projected to make landfall south of the Space Coast Wednesday night into Thursday, but the storm could still bring widespread impacts to the spaceport that includes KSC and Cape Canaveral Space Force Station. Everything from winds to flying debris to storm surge could impact operations at the world's busiest spaceport, which has hosted 48 missions this year.

Late last week, NASA rolled the massive Space Launch System rocket to pad 39B ahead of the agency's Artemis I launch to the moon currently set for no earlier than Nov 16. Officials later opted not to roll the rocket back to safety in the Vehicle Assembly Building, noting it can handle winds up to 85 mph and has been secured against water intrusion.
