Tropical Storm Warning Discontinued as Claudette Moves Off North Carolina Coast

Tropical Storm Claudette brought choppy surf and dark skies to Atlantic Beach, North Carolina, as the storm began to move out to sea on Monday, June 21, according to weather officials.

Though Claudette strengthened on Monday morning, the National Hurricane Center said the tropical storm warning for eastern North Carolina was discontinued as Claudette moved away from the coast. Forecasters said additional rainfall could prompt flash flooding in parts of North Carolina on Monday morning.
