Tropical flooding: What’s open and what’s closed

South Florida was under a food watch until Sunday morning. Numerous businesses, services, and entertainment venues are altering their hours because of flooding and heavy rain. Here’s what you can expect.

Entertainment, events, venues

Palm Beach County

  • Boynton Beach: Summer Reading Kickoff Party scheduled for Saturday at the Centennial Park Under the Banyans, 120 E. Ocean Ave., has been canceled. A new date will be announced.

  • Delray Beach: Arts Warehouse, 313 NE Third Street, will be closed Saturday.

  • Delray Beach: Crafted on the Ave & Greenmarket canceled on Saturday, Libby Wesley Plaza: 2 SW Fifth Ave.

  • Hallandale Beach: Gulfstream Race Track canceled Saturday’s and Sunday’s races. The building will remain open for simulcast and casino gambling.

  • West Palm Beach: Yappy Saturday on the lawn at the Norton Museum of Art, 1450 S. Dixie Highway, is canceled. The next event is scheduled for July 9.

  • West Palm Beach: YMCA of the Palm Beaches in West Palm Beach will be closed on Saturday.

  • West Palm Beach: Free tree giveaway on Saturday has been rescheduled to June 25 at the Howard Park Community Center parking lot, 1302 Parker Avenue.

Miami-Dade County

  • Aventura: The Aventura Farmers Market at Aventura Mall, 19501 Biscayne Blvd., will be closed Saturday and Sunday.

  • Coral Gables: The UM baseball game has been rescheduled for 5 p.m. Saturday. The Arizona Wildcats and the University of Mississippi game will begin about 55 minutes after the conclusion of the regional opener. Mark Light Field, 6201 San Amaro Drive. bit.ly/3Mh8SME

  • Miami: Zoo Miami, Southwest 152nd Street, Miami, is closed through Saturday.

Broward County

  • Coral Springs: Saturday’s Household Hazardous Waste Mini Event has been postponed to June 11 and 12. Shredathon has been postponed to June 25.

  • Coral Springs: Tournaments canceled for Saturday: Girls Softball Tournament and Tennis Tournament at the Tennis Center

  • Countywide: All Broward County campgrounds, rental halls, shelters, natural areas, marinas, and water parks as well as Deerfield Island will be closed Saturday. Residential Drop-Off Centers for disposal of household hazardous waste and electronics recycling will be closed Saturday.

  • Fort Lauderdale: Tour of the Stonewall National Museum & Archives,1300 E. Sunrise Blvd., Fort Lauderdale, postponed, and no new date has been announced.

  • Lauderhill: Saturday’s Family Safety Day Event at John Mullin Park has been canceled. The Lakes of Inverrary LHPP Listening Tour will be rescheduled. Events at the Lauderhill Performing Arts Center will proceed as scheduled.

  • Oakland Park: All city parks, including the Mills Pond athletic fields, are closed Saturday and Sunday.

  • Plantation: 17th annual Children’s BookFest on Saturday has been rescheduled to Sunday, 10 a.m. to 3 p.m. at the West Regional Library, 8601 W. Broward Blvd.

  • Tamarac: Caribbean American Heritage Month Family Fun Day scheduled for Saturday at Waters Edge Park, Waters Edge Park, 7508 NW 61st St., has been rescheduled for July 30 at the same location.

Government, services, transportation

Palm Beach County

  • Palm Beach County All offices, libraries, parks and beaches will be closed Saturday. No garbage collection Saturday in the unincorporated areas. SWA.org/Hurricane. All offices and facilities will resume normal operations on Sunday. These include libraries, parks and beaches.

  • Transportation: Palm Tran, Palm Tran Connection and Go Glades services will stop Saturday and resume as scheduled Sunday.

Broward County

  • Coral Springs: Neighborhood parks will be closed on Saturday until 3 p.m. or until determined to be safe. Fields, playgrounds, and Tennis Center will remain closed until 3 p.m. Saturday.

  • Coral Springs: The Aquatics Complex will be closed until 3 p.m. Saturday. Cypress Pool will be closed on Saturday. Mullins Pool remains closed. Dr. Pauls Dog Park will be closed Saturday.

  • Fort Lauderdale: The parking garages at Las Olas and in the central downtown areas are free to residents to protect cars from flooding.

  • Lauderhill. All parks are closed Saturday.

Miami-Dade County

  • North Miami Beach: All Parks & Recreation Centers and Facilities, PSA Building, and NMB Library are closed until further notice.

  • Opa-locka: The Department of Public Works, 12950 NW 42nd Ave., will be open all day Saturday for residents to pick up sandbags. City staff will be present and will place the bags in vehicles.

  • Transportation: Metrobus, Metrorail, Metromover and Special Transportation Services (STS), are operating a regular schedule but will cease operations no less than three hours before the County Emergency Operations Center estimated arrival of sustained tropical storm force winds of 39 mph.

Broward County

  • Food distribution. Saturday, canceled: Farm Share distribution with Commissioner Nancy Metayer, 12458 W Atlantic Blvd., Coral Springs.
