Troup moves up two spots in final #bEASTTexas Fabulous 15 football poll

Nov. 8—Troup moved up two spots to No. 8 in the final #bEASTTexas Fabulous 15 football poll for Class 3A/2A/TAPPS.

The 9-1 Tigers received 99 points in the balloting.

The top three teams — Timpson (10-0), 223 points; Malakoff (10-0), 211 points and Winnsboro (10-0), 196 points, remained unchanged from a week ago. Timpson garnered 13 first place votes, Malakoff had two and Winnsboro netted three.

Brook Hill (7-3) picked up three points in the voting.

In the Class 6A/5A/4A poll, Carthage received 12 first place nods and 222 points to continue its reign at the top.

Next was Longview (9-1), with 10-0 Pleasant Grove in third place.

Pleasant Grove will host Rusk (6-4) in the bi-district round of the state playoffs on Friday in Texarkana.

Rusk collected nine points in the poll and Bullard had 11, as each school just missed cracking the top 15.

Voters in the poll were Phil Hicks and Brandon Ogden of the Tyler Morning Telegraph, Jack Stallard and Thomas Bingham of the Longview News-Journal, Ryan Silapan of the Panola Watchman, Nathan Hague of the Nacogdoches Daily Sentinel, Josh Havard of the Lufkin Daily News, Mitch Lucas of ETBlitz.com, Jay Neal of the Jacksonville Progress, Bryce Brauneisen and Reagan Roy of CBS 19, freelance writers Joe Hale and John Krueger, Harlen the Sports Guy of the Friday Night Scoreboard Show and Bret Swinney of the Northeast Texas Sports Network/NETSN.
