Truck hauling fertilizer overturns on its side at Williston Road exit off southbound I-75

GAINESVILLE — A semitractor-trailer hauling fertilizer tipped over on the driver's side Tuesday morning on Interstate 75 at the Williston Road exit.

The truck was traveling south on I-75 approaching the Williston Road exit, at mile marker 382, about 7:10 a.m., a release from the Florida Highway Patrol said.

FHP said the driver, a 49-year-old man from Brooker, Florida, overcorrected, causing the vehicle to roll onto its driver's side and spilling fertilizer contents all over the road. The exit ramp was completely blocked.

The driver was transported to a hospital by EMS for treatment of non-life-threatening injuries.

According to the FHP the roadway is clear.
