Truck pinned under big rig in fiery crash on Los Angeles County freeway
A driver was hospitalized after a violent and fiery crash into the back of a big rig on the 91 Freeway in the Bellflower area Friday morning.
The crash was reported around 6 a.m. after the big rig apparently stalled in the eastbound lanes just west of the 605 Freeway.
The driver of a black pickup then ran into the semi-truck’s trailer and caught fire.
The crash left the driver’s cab area of the pickup almost entirely under the trailer.
A SigAlert was issued as emergency crews responded to the crash.
One person was transported from the scene at 6:30 a.m. in unknown condition, a spokesperson for the Los Angeles County Fire Department told KTLA.
No further details regarding the person’s injuries were immediately available.
