Truck rolls over, dumps trash in Barrington neighborhood

Feb. 21—A tractor-trailer rolled over in a residential neighborhood in Barrington early Tuesday, dumping a truckload of trash outside several homes.

State police responded to a call around 5 a.m. Tuesday to assist Barrington police with a crash on Franklin Pierce Highway.

Upon arrival, troopers found a Peterbilt tractor with an attached trailer on its side, with the cab of the truck resting against a tree.

The crash resulted in bags of household trash and pieces of litter being dumped across the road.

State police said the driver of the tractor-trailer, 67-year-old David Garon of Lyndeborough, was not injured in the crash. He was cited for excessive speed, and his truck taken out of service due to excessive damage.

The roadway was expected to be closed for several hours Tuesday as crews worked to clean up the area, state police said.

Anyone with information or who might have witnessed the crash is asked to call Barrington police at 603-664-7679.
