Truck Spills Six Tonnes of Paint on New South Wales Highway

A truck rolled over and spilled six tonnes of paint onto a highway in Thirroul, New South Wales, on Tuesday, January 31, the local rescue service said.

Fire and Rescue New South Wales said emergency services arrived on scene on Bulli Pass at around 10 am. The driver was able to escape the truck without injury, the service said.

The rescue service said firefighters used absorbent material and booms to contain the contents of the hundreds of punctured paint cans. “Paint is regarded as an environmental pollutant and would have caused significant damage to the local area if not contained,” it said.
