Truck and Tractor Pull concludes events at North Track
Jul. 24—On the final night of the 2021 Boone County 4-H Fair, the Indiana Pulling League put on a tractor and truck pull at the North Track.
The night kicked off with some classes of antique tractors.
They started with the 5,500 Open Class, with Randy Stevens coming out in first, pulling 248.03 feet. Kevin Ridenour was second with a pull of 204.55 and Drake Edwards was third with a pull of 199.04.
The next four classes were all decided by percentages, factoring in the weight of the tractor and then coming up with a percentage based on how far they pulled.
In the U3,600 class, Tyler Cocanower came out victorious, pulling 113.62 feet and a percentage of 34.52. Evan Newhart was second. in the 3,600-4,500 pound class, Cocanower won again, pulling 117.95 feet and having a percentage of 38.9. Joe Leising was second.
Cocanower made it 3-for-3 in the 4,500-5500 class pulling 180.56 feet and made it 4-for-4 with a win in the 5,500-6,500 class, winning over Mike Davis.
In the final class, the 6,500 Open, Billy Edwards won with a pull of 264.31, besting Bill Sanders with a 256.21.
The Indiana Pulling League took over from there.
Their first class was the Altered Farm Stock Tractors.
Mike Herr was the victor, pulling 292.32 feet. Brandon Hudson was second in 291.15 and Dan Shank third in 274.56.
David Reiff was fourth in 271.06 and Mark Abbott came in fifth with a pull of 270.60.
In the 2.6 Diesel Truck Class, Evan Rusk of Lebanon was the victor, pulling 276.63. He beat Jon Shew, who pulled 265+, with Jimmy Barclay coming in third with a pull of 264.38.
Rounding out the class were Henry Wadsworth in fourth in 263.88 and Mikenna Landis in fifth in 256.45.
The final two classes — the Combo Class and the 3.0 Trucks, finished well after deadline.
