Trulieve Cannabis to acquire Harvest

Trulieve Cannabis Corp. announced plans Monday to purchase Harvest Health and Recreation Inc. for $2.1 billion.

Harvest operates a dispensary at 340 S. Washington Ave. in Scranton.

Trulieve, based in Florida, is a multistate cannabis operator with a focus on the Northeast and Southeast regions of the United States, and Harvest, based in Arizona, a multistate operator, has a focus on the West Coast and Northeast regions of the country.

After the transaction is complete, the combined business will have operations in 11 states, including 22 cultivation and processing facilities with a capacity of 3.1 million square feet, and 126 dispensaries serving the medical and recreational cannabis markets.
