Trump aide Stephen Miller tests positive for COVID-19

One of President Donald Trump's closest advisers, Stephen Miller, announced late on Tuesday (October 6), he tested positive for COVID-19.

He's latest member of the president's inner circle to be diagnosed with the highly contagious disease, as it continues to spread among White House staff.

In a statement, Miller said that he's been working remotely for the past five days and is self-isolating.

His wife, Katie Miller, who is a spokeswoman for Vice President Mike Pence, tested positive for the virus in May.

The president announced on Friday that he and first lady Melania Trump had tested positive for the coronavirus.

The 74-year-old, who is still being treated for the virus, returned to the White House on Monday after three nights in a military hospital, removing his mask before entering.

Multiple news outlets reported earlier on Tuesday that two other White House staffers tested positive for COVID-19: one of Trump's valets, who traveled with the president last week, as well as a military aide to the president.
