With 11 days to go before the election, and as health officials warn of rising coronavirus cases, President Trump and former Vice President Joe Biden gave different outlooks on the pandemic in speeches Friday. Biden reiterated his warning from Thursday’s presidential debate of a “dark winter ahead.” Trump disagreed and said the country is approaching the “light at the end of the tunnel.”

JOE BIDEN: Last night we saw the President of the United States lie to the American people, and repeatedly lie, about the state of this pandemic. We saw him refuse to take responsibility for the crisis that should have been met with real presidential leadership. Instead, it has cost hundreds of thousands of Americans' lives and pushed millions into poverty. We saw him diminish the pain felt by so many Americans. President Trump said, "We're rounding the corner. It's going away. We're learning to live with it." They are quotes. But as I told him last night, we're not learning to live with it, we're learning to die with it. This is a dark winter ahead.

DONALD TRUMP: Last night, he said America is entering a dark winter. Isn't that really inspirational? He's running for president. Think of it. We have this guy that can't even speak, and he goes, we're entering a dark winter. So inspirational. But he's trying to scare people, basically. He's trying to get something. Because he's been such a failure at every level of government that-- this is something. But what they don't remember is the swine flu and how bad it was. But I bring that up whenever I can. But we're not entering a dark winter. We're entering the final turn and approaching the light at the end of the tunnel. That's the way I look at it.
