Trump Comments on Lack of Mask-Wearing at Riots During Minnesota Rally

At a rally in Duluth, Minnesota, President Donald Trump compared the media coverage of mask-wearing during riots versus activities like going to church or restaurants, days before tweeting that he and the first lady tested positive for coronavirus.

Journalist Brendan Gutenschwager recorded this footage on September 30. Speaking at a rally, Trump says, “CNN, The New York Times, they think rioting is just okay. You can do whatever you want, you don’t have to wear a mask,” as the crowd boos.

Trump goes on to say, “Can you go to church? No. Can you go to restaurants? No. Can you do anything? No, but you can riot, that’s okay.”

The president announced his positive test result on Twitter, and said he and the first lady would begin the"quarantine and recovery process immediately." Credit: Brendan Gutenschwager via Storyful
