Trump’s COVID-19 confirmation is his most liked tweet ever

At least his numbers are tremendous.

President Trump’s announcement that he tested positive for COVID-19 is his most liked tweet to date.

“Tonight, @FLOTUS and I tested positive for COVID-19. We will begin our quarantine and recovery process immediately,” the ailing president tweeted early Friday morning. “We will get through this TOGETHER!”

He then went uncharacteristically quiet on Twitter throughout the rest of the morning and well into the afternoon while being quarantined with what the White House called “mild symptoms.”

That tweet has received 1.6 million likes since being posted shortly before 1 a.m., according to stats compiled by Twitter. The president has more than 86 million followers on the social media site he frequently criticizes for fact-checking him.

Democratic candidate Joe Biden was in Grand Rapids, MI. Friday campaigning while his opponent in the 2020 presidential race convalesced in Washington D.C. One of Biden’s most liked Tweets was posted in April after President Trump suggested pumping disinfectants into patients infected with COVID-19 might heal them.

“I can’t believe I have to say this, but please don’t drink bleach,” Biden wrote.

That tweet also garnered 1.6 million likes.
