Trump to meet with vaping industry officials

As health experts struggle to fight a nationwide outbreak of injuries and deaths linked to vaping, U.S. President Donald Trump said on Monday he will meet with vaping industry officials to discuss the problem.

Trump wrote on Twitter Monday - "Will be meeting with representatives of the Vaping industry, together with medical professionals and individual state representatives, to come up with an acceptable solution to the Vaping and E-cigarette dilemma."

The president did not mention a time for the meeting.

On Friday, Trump told reporters that his administration would issue its final report on vaping products this week.

"We have to take care of kids most importantly so we're going to have an age limit of 21 or so. But we'll be coming out with something next week very important on vaping. We have a lot of people to look at including jobs, frankly, because it's become a pretty big industry."

Congress is investigating the industry.

And various states and localities have cracked down on vaping products, which have also faced numerous lawsuits.

The CDC has reported 39 deaths and over 2000 cases of lung injury linked to vaping.

Nearly 85 percent of the lung injury patients have reported using products containing THC… and the CDC is strictly warning people NOT to use them.
