Donald Trump’s long-running claims that his predecessor Barack Obama was born in Kenya and not the US have been labelled “racist lies” by the former first lady Michelle Obama, writing on Instagram as she reflects on the 2016 transition efforts she and her husband engaged in “for the sake of the country” as the Trumps fail to do the same for the Bidens.

Jack Dorsey and Mark Zuckerberg, the CEOs of Twitter and Facebook respectively, are currently facing questions from the Senate over social media’s role in the election, with angry Republicans demanding answers on why both suppressed an inflammatory New York Post story making largely baseless allegations against Hunter Biden.

Georgia’s secretary of state Brad Raffensperger has meanwhile accused GOP luminaries including South Carolina senator Lindsey Graham of attempting to pressure him into questioning the validity of legally cast absentee ballots as part of an attempt to influence the Peace State’s manual recount of presidential race votes in Mr Trump’s favour.
