Trump has a very particular vision of how he is going to end this war

The Republican Party primaries have already begun. Iowa had a caucus, and Donald Trump won 51% of the vote. So, there is a very good chance that former President Trump will be the Republican candidate in this election. You can see that Trump's closest competitors are almost twice as far behind him. Most polls and commentaries now suggest that the decisive struggle in the presidential election will likely be between 77-year-old Donald Trump and 81-year-old Joseph Biden, who is preparing to be the Democratic candidate.

More than 90 lawsuits have been filed against Donald Trump, some of which will be heard next month, including allegations of attempts to illegally distort election results or change the outcome of the 2020 election, in which he was defeated. The accusations and suspicions did not affect the Iowa caucuses' preparation and course. Voice of America correspondents spoke to voters there, and most say that the cases against Donald Trump do not fundamentally impact their choice.

We know that the U.S. Supreme Court is considering a case regarding the removal of Donald Trump from the ballot in two American states. A lot will depend on this Supreme Court decision. I anticipate that the future presidency in the United States will rely on this decision, and, of course, serious geopolitical changes in the world if former President Trump becomes president again.

Even Republican voters want fresh blood

Donald Trump has a considerable number of very loyal supporters. If this massive number of faithful supporters does mobilize in the elections, they can seriously compete with the current President of the United States.

On the other hand, from the interviews with voters in Iowa, whom our correspondents had the opportunity to ask questions, even Republican voters want fresh blood and fresh competition. They say they want to avoid seeing a repeat of the previous election. Even Republican analysts are also wary that this could be a repeat of the last election, and that's not good for the Republican party. Republicans want to elect a president who can serve not one but two terms. These are the disadvantages of President Trump.

Of the Republican candidates today, Donald Trump, Ron DeSantis, and Nikki Haley, the latter is the most pro-Ukrainian. In principle, she is pro-American, but she deeply understands the geopolitical implications of the war in Ukraine because she is an internationalist and worked at the UN. That's why her position on Ukraine is similar to the current administration of Joseph Biden. Haley also believes that Ukraine should be given maximum support because she understands how crucial this war against Ukraine is in the context of current global crises. The consequences of the war in Ukraine will have a powerful impact on all other geopolitical crises that are developing in the world today.

President Trump is not saying much about NATO right now. One thing he did say about funding was that he encouraged US partners in NATO to spend more on their security by threatening that the US would not come to their aid if they did not defend themselves. In fact, in the end, it worked, and NATO countries did indeed start spending more on their security.

Just for a few days in a row, Trump has been talking a lot about Ukraine. He said that we want peace through strength. He declared that Russia would never attack Ukraine. He stated, "Putin and I are communicating well, and that's good, not bad." The former White House Chief of Staff emphasized that he could quickly end the Russian war. He said, "The situation with Ukraine is so terrible. And we're going to solve it, we're going to solve it very quickly. I know President Putin very well, I know Zelenskyy very well, I can get them, we are going to solve this very quickly." We also know President Zelenskyy's statements. He invited President Trump to Ukraine and said that he would explain everything to President Trump in 24 minutes, and he would understand what Putin's war in Ukraine is.

One more thing that Trump, the future Republican candidate, speaking to his supporters, said was that the actual casualties in Russia's war in Ukraine are much higher than is now known. "Now, all these deaths are much higher than people realize, the numbers are much higher than anyone thought. Perhaps they will be revealed in the coming years. When these huge buildings were destroyed in Ukraine, you see that they announce that two people were lightly injured. No, many more people were killed."

Trump, speaking about the Kremlin's full-scale invasion of Ukraine, added, "People are killed and culture is destroyed. You will never be able to replace thousand-year-old buildings with the most beautiful golden domes and churches — now it's all just collapsed." So Trump thinks about it, he talks about it. He has only a particular vision of how he will end this war. So far, we have an election campaign. Anything is possible in an election campaign, and different promises are possible. So I think we will hear explanations and details of this plan much later.
