May 13—THOMASVILLE — The Real Georgia Speaks Team Trump Bus Tour made a stop in Thomasville on Thursday and came to meet and greet locals at the 1861 Distillery.

Lynne Patton, the senior advisor of the Donald Trump's Save America PAC, said that the tour event began on May 2 and is traveling through Georgia's rural communities.

"We're in Georgia because Georgia is critical to reestablishing voter integrity in this country," she said.

According to Patton, there are Georgia voters who lack confidence in their vote after the 2020 presidential election, in reference to continued Republican claims made regarding voter fraud. Those claims of widespread fraud have not been corroborated.

"We all saw what happened in 2020," Patton said, "We're coming across a lot of Georgians who feel disenfranchised, who feel like their vote was stolen or misrepresented, that it did not count."

The grassroots tour, according to Patton, is intended to reach individuals outside of their usual base and is not expected to reach rally-sized crowds.

"It's a grassroots tour; we're not expecting the big rally crowds," she said, "And we selected places that don't accommodate that on purpose. You know, we selected places that everyday people are shopping at anyway, or visiting anyway, or eating at anyway."

Attendees were able to speak with Patton and write encouraging messages on the side of the tour bus, along with taking pictures next to it.

Patton added that the tour is to promote the primary slate of candidates that Trump has approved, which includes gubernatorial candidate David Perdue, U.S. Senate candidate Herschel Walker, Secretary of State hopeful Jody Hice and others.

"These are the people who are going to restore confidence to Georgia elections and Georgia constituents," she said.

Patton said that the tour was scheduled to conclude Friday in East Ellijay, where a showing of Dinesh D'Souza's "2000 Mules" would be offered, with Matt Whittaker, former acting Attorney General of the United States, Matt Schlapp, chairman of CPAC, and Dannielle De'Souza, niece of Dinesh D'Souza, in attendance

The senior advisor shared her thoughts on current Gov. Brian Kemp's chances in the general election and urged Georgians to vote.

"We're here to say, 'you must vote,'" Patton said, "If voters don't take Kemp off this ballot in the primary, Kemp will lose to Stacey Abrams in the general and we cannot afford that. Because, once Georgia turns over to the custody of Stacey Abrams, there is no turning back."
