Former President Donald Trump is getting ready to do a lot more campaign-related travel ahead of the 2022 midterm elections, according to a senior adviser.

Corey Lewandowski, who previously worked as Trump's campaign manager, said the former president is preparing to relocate to his Florida estate at Mar-a-Lago, which will be his political base as he campaigns and meets with candidates heading into the midterm elections. Trump has spent the last several months living at his property in Bedminster, New Jersey.

"The season is starting to open down there," Lewandowski told Fox News. "You are going to see a complete rush of candidates going down to the Mar-a-Lago area to do fundraising, to be near the president, to talk to him, to get his advice and counsel."

"You're going to see Donald Trump on the road on a much more regular basis," he said.

Trump has remained politically active since leaving the White House in January, issuing strong critiques of the Biden administration and the Democrat-led Congress in various interviews and statements.

The former president has also endorsed a slate of Republican candidates for several offices and participated in a number of his signature rallies, with more on the schedule. Trump will hold a rally Saturday in Georgia in support of his friend and former football star Herschel Walker, who hopes to unseat incumbent Sen. Raphael Warnock in what is expected to be among the most competitive races in the United States. He will also hold a rally on Oct. 9 in Iowa.

Trump has declined to say outright whether he'll run for president again in 2024 but has repeatedly hinted at another bid, saying allies are going to be "happy" about his decision.

"Do not fear, however. America will be made great again," Trump said during a video message on Sept. 11, referencing his 2016 campaign slogan, "Make America great again."
