Trump privately speaking with advisors about 2024 run: report

President Trump has not yet conceded the election but is reportedly already considering another run

President Donald Trump has not yet vacated the White House but he reportedly wants to try to run again.

There are reports swirling that Trump may become a candidate for the highest office again in 2024. Per Axios, Trump told his advisors he is thinking about the future and could see himself running again.

According to the 22nd Amendment, the law allows for the president to try again.

It reads:

“No person shall be elected to the office of the President more than twice, and no person who has held the office of President, or acted as President, for more than two years of a term to which some other person was elected President shall be elected to the office of the President more than once.”

But despite Trump being able to run again, that does not mean it will happen. According to an opinion piece in The Washington Post, Trump is seeking attention, not another presidency.

“The prospect of a 2024 run is politically significant. It’s also a complete fiction. Donald Trump will not be running for president again,” writes columnist Paul Waldman. “He will, however, continue to tease the possibility of a 2024 run — not just right now, but also for the next three years or so, perhaps right up to the Iowa caucuses in January 2024. There are a number of reasons why, but one stands above the others: As long as we think he might run, there’s still reason to pay attention to him and talk about him and act like he’s important.”

According to Axios, if Trump is looking to run in 2024, he is admitting defeat to president-elect Joe Biden. Trump has yet to concede and is continuously tweeting out messages to his 88.9 million followers that he had more votes than Biden.

He wrote, “71,000,000 Legal Votes. The most EVER for a sitting President!”

Despite his tweetstorm, Trump’s Twitter account has been flagged by the social media platform for the inaccuracy of some of his posts.
