Trump rally: Man charged with repeatedly punching protester, 61, in face after shouting 'You want some?'

A man has been charged with repeatedly punching a 61-year-old protester in the face outside Donald Trump’s latest rally.

Dallas Frazier was arrested outside the US Bank Arena in Cincinnati, Ohio, last night.

Police say the 29-year-old from Kentucky was sitting in a car outside the venue when he saw the protesters.

He allegedly jumped out of his vehicle shouting “You want some?” before repeatedly punching one of the protesters in the face.

As Frazier was led away by police, anti-Trump demonstrators chanted: “Lock him up!” He was expected to appear in court on Friday charged with misdemeanor assault.

Two groups of protesters were thrown out of the arena during the president’s speech, with one interruption holding up the event for four minutes.

One group held up banners reading “Immigrants built America”.

As they were ejected Mr Trump made a strange gesture, which was interpreted as being obscene by some observers. MSNBC host Joy Reid tweeted: “This vulgar man.”

At the rally Mr Trump repeated his attacks on Democratic politicians of colour, although there was no repeat of the “send her back” chants directed at congresswoman Ilhan Omar at a rally in North Carolina last month.
