Trump is one of the best presidents we’ve ever had

Words can’t express how angry I am and also saddened at the article by Ray Smythe in the Aug. 21 edition of The Desert Sun.

He lambasted President Donald J. Trump thoroughly and completely unfairly. I could include a long list of the many good things that Trump accomplished during his presidency but I know it would fail to convince Smythe or others who share his opinions, particularly the far left.

Donald J. Trump is one of the best presidents we’ve ever had and one that actually liked our country!

I wish to thank Ray Smythe for his thoughtful column on Aug. 21.  He presented undeniable facts about former President Trump, and Mr. Smythe's comments and suggestions should be taken seriously.  May the GOP do so.

Disagreeing with Smythe on Trump

I vehemently disagree with the opinion piece in the Sunday paper written by Ray Smythe in which he completely vilifies Donald J. Trump.

Would you have published this if it crucified Joe Biden in a similar fashion?  I like to think so and maybe this would happen as I think The Desert Sun is becoming a little more even-handed.

Smythe declares he would like to see this country unified.  As long as extreme positions like his exist, I don’t think this will happen.

President Trump did not cause disunity while he was in office, except in the imagination of liberals.
