Spring is here, and so are farmers’ markets.
The area has several markets to buy some of the city’s freshest produce, meats, and homemade baked goods, all while supporting local farmers and vendors.
So the next time you need to stock up on groceries, consider swinging by one of these local farmers’ markets instead:
Charlotte Regional Farmers Market
Location: 1801 Yorkmont Rd, Charlotte, NC 28217
Market season: Year-round
Hours: Wednesday-Sunday, 8 a.m.-5 p.m.
This is one of four state-operated farmers’ markets managed by the N.C. Department of Agriculture and Consumer Services. Over 100 vendors sell fresh produce, meat, cheese, baked goods, jams, jellies, plants, and body products.
Davidson Farmers Market
Location: 120 S Main St, Davidson, NC 28036
Market Season: Year-round
Hours: Saturday, 9 a.m.-12 p.m.
Located next to Town Hall, the market features over 40 new and returning vendors representing 1,100 acres in surrounding counties. It also features chef and cooking demonstrations, seasonal produce events, and music and educational activities.
Gastonia Farmers Market

The market has 27 vendors offering fresh fruits and vegetables from local farms. The market will also provide an evening display this July where the public can shop from 5-7 p.m. every Thursday.
Huntersville Growers’ Market

Established in 1999, it hosts a variety of vendors offering fresh produce, eggs, baked goods, dog treats, crafts, and more. The Saturday market will run May 13-October 21 and the Tuesday market will be held May 16-Sept. 5.
Kannapolis Farmers Market

Hours: Thursday 4-7 p.m.
Kannapolis Farmers Market has 15 new and returning vendors this year. There will be a wide variety of fresh produce, including honey, prepared foods, spices, and crafts.
Kings Drive Farmers Market (Simpson’s Produce)

Matthews Community Farmers Market
