Try these special pies at Taunton area pizza places to celebrate Pi Day on March 14

As far as quirky holidays go, March 14 has to be near the top of the list.

Because on March 14, we’re not celebrating a person, or a historical event, or anything like that.

Instead, we’re celebrating a mathematical concept.

March 14 is Pi Day, because the date matches up with the first few digits of the number: 3/14, 3.14.

To help celebrate Pi Day, we put together a list of some local places where you can enjoy a pizza pie to mark this auspicious occasion.

And to make it extra fun, we’ve thrown in our own little nod to 3.14: we’ve got three of the quirkiest pies around here, and 14 other pies that stood out on local pizza menus.

Just as the decimal representation of Pi doesn’t end, neither do your options for finding a delicious pizza pie:

Pizza pie: How about twice the pie? This pizza pie is the Chicken Pot Pie. It has butter as the sauce, chicken gravy, peas, carrots, grilled chicken, three-blend cheese, a lattice crust, a drizzle of butter, and a sprinkle of basil and oregano.

Pizza pie: É uma pizza Portuguesa com certeza! Fat Cousins actually has a couple of Portuguese-themed pizzas, including one called the Portuguesa, featuring caçoila, linguiça, mushrooms, peppers, onions and bacon. They’ve also got a Chicken Mozambique pizza, with Mozambique sauce, cheese, grilled chicken and caramelized onions.
