Tsikhanouskaya announces creation of transitional government of Belarus

The provisional government is to "restore constitutional law and order" in the country, Tsikhanouskaya said.
"I made the decision to create a unified, provisional cabinet,” she announced.
“This is a collective executive body that will work on our main goals every day, defend the independence and sovereignty of the Republic of Belarus, represent the national interests of Belarus, and carry out the actual de-occupation of our country.”

According to Tsikhanouskaya, the government will also "restore constitutional law and order, ensure the transition of power from dictatorship to democracy, and create conditions for holding fair and free elections."
All candidates for the cabinet must receive the approval of the representative body. For this, Tsikhanouskaya said she would rely on the opposition’s Coordination Council.

Belsat noted that Tsikhanouskaya has already made her first appointments. Pavel Latushko became the cabinet representative for the transition of power, Aliaksandr Azarav, representative for the restoration of law and order, Valeriy Kavalevskiy, representative for foreign affairs, and Valeriy Sakashchyk, representative for defense and national security.
Representatives for social policy, economy and finance, and national revival are also to be appointed in due course, Tsikhanouskaya said.
She also noted that "the cabinet would like for there to be more participation by women."
