Tua Tagovailoa won't attend Jets game; Xavien Howard, Tyreek Hill, Jaylen Waddle questionable

MIAMI GARDENS — Quarterback Tua Tagovailoa will not travel with the Dolphins for Sunday’s game against the New York Jets.

Tagovailoa remains in concussion protocol, as does tight end Cethan Carter, the only other player the Dolphins declared as out vs. the Jets.

Following a difficult stretch that included a Thursday night road game, the Dolphins had several players limited or missing practice this week. But when game status was revealed Friday, seven of those players were listed as questionable, meaning they have a good chance of playing.

The seven include starting receivers Tyreek Hill (quad) and Jaylen Waddle (groin). The others are running back Salvon Ahmed (back), tackle Terron Armstead (toe), defensive back Keion Crossen (glute/shoulder), cornerback Xavien Howard (groins) and offensive lineman Robert Jones (back).

The Dolphins received good news Friday on two other players nursing ailments. Safety Brandon Jones (chest) and defensive lineman Zach Sieler (hand) were able to participate in a full practice after being limited Thursday.

The Jets declared two starters as out: tackle Max Mitchell (knee) and linebacker Quincy Williams (ankle). Linebacker Marcell Harris (neck) is questionable and running back Breece Hall (knee) and quarterback Zach Wilson (ankle) participated in a full practice and no longer have an injury designation.
