Temperatures fall below freezing Tuesday evening, lows in mid-to-low 20s

Grab the warm winter layers before you head out, temperatures will fall below freezing quickly this evening. Overnight lows will tumble to the mid to lower 20s.

More clouds Wednesday ahead of the next weather maker for late Wednesday night and Thursday. Temperatures will reach around the 40° mark by late Wednesday afternoon. The next system will come with rain, freezing rain, and a wintry mix after 10PM Wednesday night. Some mixed precipitation is possible north of Pittsburgh and east especially in the ridges and mountains through the overnight hours impacting the Thursday morning commute. Icy conditions will be possible and impact travel in some locations. A Winter Storm Watch has been issues ahead of this system for Indiana, Garrett counties along with the ridges of Westmoreland, Fayette and Preston counties from 10 PM Wednesday through 10 PM Thursday.
