Ella Chepul, Marvin Ridge: Chepul made a school-record seven 3-point shots in an 83-21 win over Catawba Ridge. The Mavericks made 18 3-pointers as a team, establishing another new school-record.
Misa Garris, Garinger: The Garinger sophomore had 19 points, 12 steals, seven assists and five rebounds in a 77-42 win over Harding. Garinger is 4-0, off to one of its best starts since the early ‘90s.
Maya Mccorkle, Cannon School: The Cougars’ star had a game-high 17 points in a 58-43 win over preseason No. 1 Mallard Creek. The Mavericks (2-2) have lost two of their past three games, including Friday to new Observer Sweet 16 No. 1 Independence.
Blair Riley, Forestview: The Jaguars’ star had 13 points, eight steals, seven rebounds and two blocks in a 49-45 win over Palisades.
Amani Womack, Northside Christian: Womack finished with 17 points, eight steals, two assists in a 72-14 win over Gaston Christian in the Knights’ conference opener.
Chambers' band is in the building ahead of tonight's big Myers Park at Chambers basketball showdown. It's one of the biggest games in the state Tuesday.
