He's one of the world's most famous classical musicians, who last performed in Akron with the Academy of St. Martin in the Fields in late February 2020, just weeks before the pandemic shutdown. She debuted to acclaim at Kennedy Center and Carnegie Hall in 2019 and has performed with Andrea Bocelli.

During the pandemic, they created virtual performances from their home, termed house salons, exploring voice and violin repertoire. This season, they finally take their show on the road.

Their February performance at E.J. Thomas Hall is one of six concerts Tuesday Musical has announced for its 2021-2022 season. The first will be the British a cappella ensemble Voces8, which will perform at 7:30 p.m. Oct. 19 at E.J. Thomas with a "Choral Dances" program ranging from Bach to Irvin Berlin.

The group also will lead a residency at the University of Akron supported by the School of Music's Kulas Concert Series.

• Harlem Quartet with pianist Aldo Lopez-Gavilan will perform at 7:30 p.m. March 1, 2022, at E.J. Thomas Hall. The concert reunites Cuban-born brothers Ilmar Lopez-Gavilan — the violinist who founded the quartet — and Aldo, a celebrated pianist and composer in Cuba.

Ilmar left at age 14 to study violin in the Soviet Union and never returned to live in Cuba. He landed as a working chamber violinist in the United States. Aldo stayed home to study with Cuba's classical and jazz pianists.

Now, the brothers are performing together in their long-awaited musical collaboration, which will include Afro-Cuban jazz works by Aldo as well as a piano masterpiece by Schumann. Their story of separation between nations with tense relations and travel restrictions is chronicled in the documentary "Los Hermanos/The Brothers," which will be screened at Akron's Nightlight Cinema in February. Details are TBA.
