Division I

GLENOAK 53, AUSTINTOWN-FITCH 37 Jaylen McElroy scored 12 points and Kenny Scott added 11 as the Golden Eagles pulled away in the second half for a Northeast 1 sectional final win. Trailing 23-21 at the break, No. 7 seed GlenOak (18-6) outscored No. 16 Fitch 32-14 in the second half to advance to Thursday's district semifinal vs. No. 4 seed Hoban (20-3) at Twinsburg.

JACKSON 68, WILLOUGHBY SOUTH 26  Eleven Polar Bears scored in a Northeast 2 sectional final rout of No. 32 seed South. James Bossart and Owen Woolbert scored 12 points each to lead No. 9 seed Jackson (18-6), with Woolbert also blocking five shots. Kyle Monterrubio added 11 points. Jackson (18-6) advances to face fellow Federal League co-champ Green in a district semifinal on Thursday at Alliance.

GREEN 74, WARREN HARDING 51  Brady Rollyson scored 23 points as the No. 6 seed Bulldogs cruised in a Northeast 2 sectional final. Jarrett Taylor scored 13 points while Mark Danner and Nikola Bundalo added 11 each for defending district champion Green (17-6), which advances to face fellow Federal League co-champ Jackson in a district semifinal on Thursday at Alliance.

LOUISVILLE 50, SOLON 42 The Leopards survived 11-for-31 free throw shooting to win this Northeast 3 sectional final. Hayden Nigro scored 13 points and Will Aljancic tallied 12 for No. 10 seed Louisville (19-4), which will face Walsh Jesuit in a district semifinal on Thursday at Euclid.

WALSH JESUIT 62, NORTH CANTON HOOVER 37  The Vikings fell behind 22-3 after one quarter in this Northeast 3 sectional final and could not recover. Zach Halligan totaled 23 points and four assists while shooting 9-of-14 from the floor and 5-of-8 from 3-point range for the No. 8 seed Warriors (17-7). Zach Braucher's 12 points led No. 24 Hoover (10-13), which had won at Walsh on Feb. 7 49-47.

DIVISION II 

CARROLLTON 56, CLAYMONT 40  The Warriors used a 20-1 second-half run to propel them to a win in this East 2 sectional final. Lincoln Mallarnee hit four 3-pointers and scored a game-high 22 points for No. 3 seed Carrollton (21-3). Jaxon Rinkes added 15 points as the Warriors advance to face No. 5 seed East Liverpool in a district semifinal on Wednesday at Richmond Edison.

INDIAN VALLEY 46, MINERVA 39  The Lions fell in an East 2 sectional final at Gnadenhutten. No details were available.

OHSAA District Gymnastics: Jackson's Kiara Hockman, Perry’s McKenna Shane qualify for state

Jackson High School senior Kiara Hockman is headed back to the state meet after winning one district title Saturday and breaking a school record.

Hockman qualified for state in the beam, vault and all-around. She will compete at state Saturday at Hillard Bradley High School.

Hockman has qualified for the state meet all four years at Jackson. She was a state runner-up on the floor exercises a year ago.

In the district meet in Hudson. she scored 9.55 on the beam to win the title for that event. She also scored 9.55 on the vault, finishing eighth in that event. She broke the school record her vault score and tied her own school record with her beam score.

Her other district scores were 9.5 on the floor and 8.2 on the bar, giving her a 36.8 all-around. That placed her eighth in all-around.

OHSAA Gymnastics:Jackson gymnast Kiara Hockman continues breaking school records as postseason approaches

Perry’s McKenna Shane is Stark County’s other state qualifier. She advanced in the vault and bars. She placed 14th in the vault (9.3) and tied for 15th on the bars (9.025).

Stark’s only other competitor this past Saturday at the district meet was Lake’s Noelle Ellison. She placed 23rd on the bars (8.925).

JACKSON 83, ELLET 50 Mitch Finefrock hit seven 3s and scored a game-high 23 points to power the Polar Bears to a Division I sectional semifinal win. James Bossart finished with 12 points for Jackson (17-6), which led 40-25 at halftime and was never threatened. Kyle Monterrubio and Alvin Altman combined for 15 points, 11 rebounds, 11 assists and five steals. The Polar Bears will host Willoughby South on Saturday in a sectional final.

MINERVA 70, MORGAN 66 OT The Lions made the 116-mile trip to McConnelsville Morgan worth it Tuesday night, pulling out a Division II East 2 sectional semifinal in overtime. Freshman Braydon Wood hit two free throws with four seconds left in regulation to send the game to OT for Minerva. Another ninth grader, Rowen Hoffee, connected on the go-ahead 3-pointer for the Lions with 1:30 left in the extra session. Junior Garrett Gonzalez hit four 3-pointers and scored 22 points and Hoffee added 19 points for No. 15 seed Minerva (10-13), which knocked off the 10th-seeded Raiders and now will go to No. 6 Indian Valley on Saturday for a sectional final. Senior Brandon Davis scored 11 points for the Lions. Carson Mummey's 17 points led Morgan (10-13), which is only 35 miles from Marietta.

Lincoln Mallarnee scored 13 points and Brock Smith 10 for the Warriors (20-3), who reached 20 wins for the third time in school history. Carrollton hosts No. 14 seed Claymont in a sectional final on Saturday night.

MALVERN 83, RICHMOND EDISON 35 Dylan Phillips and Rodney Smith scored 16 points each as the No. 1 seed Hornets cruised in a Division III East sectional semifinal. J'Allen Barrino added 11 points for Malvern (22-1), which shot 64.8% from the floor and forced 22 turnovers. The Hornets, tied for fourth in the final Associated Press boys basketball state poll, will host No. 13 seed Ridgewood in a sectional final on Friday.

SANDY VALLEY 59, TUSKY VALLEY 37 Dantae Faiello made six 3-pointers and scored 28 points as the Cardinals rolled over their rivals in a Division III East sectional semifinal. Nick Petro added 10 points and six assists for No. 5 seed Sandy Valley (16-7), which advances to Friday's sectional final at No. 4 seed Zanesville West Muskingum. Silas Miller's 20 points led No. 10 seed Tusky Valley.

CANTON CENTRAL CATHOLIC 75, CLE.BARD 28 DaMonte' DeGraffenried scored 15 points and Dylan Rouse added 13 as the Crusaders rolled in a Division III Northeast 5 sectional semifinal. Ben Frank scored 11 points and Amar Coney 10 for No. 4 seed Central (13-9), which hosts No. 8 Brooklyn on Friday in a sectional final.

Kodak Allen led Orrville (4-19) with 20 points, while Brant Besancon hit five 3s for his 15 points.

MANCHESTER 67, EAST CANTON 51 Daniel Sensius scored 21 points and Michael Veppert added 18 as the No. 12 seed Panthers won this Division III Northeast 4 sectional semifinal. Manchester (12-11) advances to a sectional final at No. 2 seed Cuyahoga Heights on Friday. Caleb Shilling totaled 26 points and eight rebounds and Jaedyn McLeod added 12 points for No. 19 seed East Canton (7-16).
