MARATHON - Conner Krach of Newman Catholic shot 75 to earn regional medalist honors and lead the Cardinals to the team title.

Newman Catholic and Marathon tied for the team title with 355 team scores, then Newman Catholic won a playoff for the regional title. Assumption and Nekoosa also advanced their teams to sectionals.

Division 1 regionals

Stevens Point 15, Eau Claire Memorial 0

STEVENS POINT - The Panthers scored in all four innings as they rolled to the regional win.

Zoe Fink led the charge, going 3-for-3 with three RBIs, while Maddy Miklesh was 3-for-3 with a double and a triple and two RBIs. Kaitlyn Klismith was 3-for-4 with three runs scored, Kyla O’Neal was 2-for-3 with an RBI and Emma Raikowski homered and drove in three RBIs.

Maren Sauvageau picked up the win in the circle, going four innings, allowing two hits and striking out four.

Division 2 regionals

Mosinee 3, Merrill 2

MOSINEE - Mosinee scored one run in the sixth and one in the seventh to overcome a 2-1 deficit and advance in regional play.

Mikah Keller was 2-for-3 with two runs scored, while Maggie Woller was 2-for-3 with an RBI. Adeline Strejc picked up the win in the circle, going all seven innings, allowing five hits and one earned run, while striking out two.

Dani Korman was 2-for-3 with an RBI for Merrill.

Division 3 regionals

Oconto 4, Wittenberg-Birnamwood 3

OCONTO - The Blue Devils opened scoring right away in the first and plated another pair of runs in the third to get out to a 3-0 lead, but the Chargers stormed back to tie the game in the fifth. The tie didn’t last for long as the go-ahead run would come across to score in the bottom half of the inning for Oconto, proving to also be the game-winner.

Maggie Sohrweide went 2-for-2 with a run scored and the lone RBI for the Blue Devils. Alyse Viestenz scored each of the other three runs for Oconto after getting hit by a pitch and going 1-for-1 at the plate with a walk.

Kaylee Schram put together a 3-for-4 line with a double for Wittenberg-Birnamwood.

Division 4 regionals

Iola-Scandinavia 5, Shiocton 1

IOLA - Makayla Much, Marin Hoyford and Alexa Christoph had two hits each as the Thunderbirds built a five-run lead after five and held on from there.

Christoph had two doubles in the game.

Much was solid in the circle for Iola-Scandinavia, allowing just four hits and one walk, while striking out three in seven innings.

The second-seeded Thunderbirds (16-6) will host the No. 7 seed Algoma, a 10-4 winner over Coleman, on Thursday.

Auburndale 9, Necedah 3

AUBURNDALE - The Eagles scored five times in the second and three in the fourth to put the regional matchup out of reach.

Ashlyn Grimm picked up the win in the circle, pitching all seven innings, allowing just two hits, four walks and one earned run. She also struck out 12.

Leading the Auburndale offense were Mya Krings, who was 3-for-4 with two doubles and two runs scored; Erin Griesbach, who was 2-for-3 with a sacrifice fly in the fourth; Grimm, who hit a three-run home run in the second and a sac fly in the fourth; Kimmie Lundgren, who was 2-for-4; Taylor Anderson, who doubled; Josie Ertl, who had a solo homer in the fifth; and Hope Schulte, who doubled and scored two runs.

Auburndale is 11-8 overall and will face Marathon, a 17-7 winner over Markesan, on Thursday.

Division 5 regionals

Pacelli 15, Rosholt 0

STEVENS POINT - The Cardinals scored 13 times in the third to put a premature end to the game.

Hannah Trzinski, Katy Ilkka and Julia Storch all had two hits for the Cardinals. Both of Trzinski’s hits were doubles. Trzinski also got the win in the circle, allowing just one walk, while striking out five.

Sydney Gavin drove in four runs for Pacelli.

Almond-Bancroft 13, Tri-County 3

ALMOND - Pitcher Olivia Baumgartner limited Tri-County to just six hits and four walks, while striking out six in five innings to help lead Almond-Bancroft.

Leading the Eagles offense were Messina Meddaugh and Lexie Dernbach with two hits apiece and Raegen Omernik with four RBIs.

Athens 15, Clear Lake 1

ATHENS - The Bluejays stole 12 bases and scored in every inning, including a 10-run fourth, to beat the Warriors.

Siarra Hart went 1-for-2 with a walk and three RBIs at the plate for Athens and pitched four innings, giving up only one unearned run on four hits while striking out 10 batters.

Edgar 18, Bowler/Gresham 0

EDGAR - The Wildcats scored 10 times in the first and eight in the second to cruise to the regional win.

Makayla Wirkus was 2-for-3 with a triple and four RBIs, while Reagan Borchardt was 2-for-2 with a triple and two RBIs, and Jessica Mucha 2-for-2 with a double and an RBI.

Wirkus got the win in the circle, striking out eight of the nine batters she faced.

BASEBALL

Stevens Point 5, Wausau East 4

STEVENS POINT - The Panthers rallied from a 3-2 deficit with a run in the fifth and two in the sixth as SPASH claimed its fourth consecutive Wisconsin Valley Conference championship.

Bryce Ehr and Deacan Koback were both 2-for-2 to lead Stevens Point (16-5, 10-1).

Ty Rechner pitched 1⅓ innings, allowed one hit and one run to get the win.

Noah Marschke pitched 5⅔ innings for SPASH. He allowed five hits, three runs and struck out nine.

Wausau West 3, Wisconsin Rapids 2

WAUSAU - The Warriors scored twice in the bottom of the seventh to pull out the Wisconsin Valley Conference victory.

Ethan Graham drove in a pair of runs, while Ryan Rasmussen doubled and added an RBI to lead West.

Caden Sengbusch and Carson Gunderson had two hits each for the Raiders, including a double by Sengbusch.

Amherst 5-6, Pacelli 4-2

AMHERST - The Falcons swept a pair of games from the Cardinals to remain perfect on the season.

In Game 1, Matt Glodowski was 2-for-3 with a double and three RBIs, while Tyler Soulsby was 2-for-3 as the Falcons pushed across the winning run in the bottom of the seventh.

Brycen Cashin helped lead the Pacelli offense, going 2-for-3, while Brock Birrenkott added two RBIs.

In the nightcap, Amherst erased an early 2-0 deficit, scoring once in the third, twice in the fourth, once in the fifth and twice in the sixth. Wyatt Blaskowski was 2-for-4 with a double and three RBIs to power the Falcons. Landon Moe also had two RBIs.

Cashin was 2-for-2 with a double for the Cardinals.

Mosinee 12, Waupaca 2

MOSINEE - Mosinee used 11 hits to defeat the Comets in five innings.

Tanner Unertl had three hits, including two doubles, and three RBIs for Mosinee. Davin Stoffel had three hits and two RBIs. Trenton Dorn had two hits, including a triple, and three RBIs. Eli Miland had two hits, including a double.

Mosinee improved its record to 22-2 with the win.

Medford 10, Pittsville 5

PITTSVILLE - Medford scored twice in the first, third and fourth innings, then added three in the sixth and one in the seventh to earn the nonconference victory.

Seth Mudgett was 3-for-5, while Tanner Hraby, Aiden Gardner and Miles Searles added two hits each to power the Red Raiders. Gardner homered and drove in three runs, while Chubs Guden tripled and drove in three runs.

Logan Zickert was 3-for-4 for the Panthers. Brad Neve, Joey Downs and Dylan Luther added two hits each.

Adams-Friendship 3, Stratford 1

ADAMS - Zander Klaus and Carson Klaus limited the Tigers to just three hits and one run while striking out 13 in the Blue Devils’ win over the Tigers.

Tied 1-1 through five innings, Adams-Friendship scored twice in the sixth inning to get the victory.

Cameron Daul started and pitched the first five innings for Stratford. Dillon Kirsch pitched the final two innings and took the loss.

Bonduel 7, Rosholt 4

ROSHOLT - The Bears jumped on Rosholt out of the gate, scoring three in the first highlighted by a two-run home run from Easton Reinke and a double by Adam Beilfuss.

Rosholt countered with one of its own, but Bonduel plated two more in the second on a Noah Weier double and a Cade Johnson sacrifice fly. Rosholt took advantage of a couple of Bonduel errors to score three times in the fourth.

Charlie Tauchen relieved Brodie Hartmann and kept the Hornets’ bats quiet the rest of the way. The Bears added a run in each of the sixth and seventh innings on a Reinke double and a Mason Bohm single.

Reinke had two hits and three RBIs and Bohm had two hits and an RBI.
