Here are Tuesday's high school sports results for the Appleton area

BOYS VOLLEYBALL

Neenah 3, Appleton East 1

NEENAH - The Rockets beat the Patriots 25-20, 13-25, 25-20, 25-23 in a Fox Valley Association match.

“Give East credit,” Neenah coach Jake Coenen said. “They played aggressive and very scrappy. We had to really work for every point. Good for us to start conference play with a win.”

Noah Harmon and Chip Calcaterry both had nine kills for Neenah. Zac Fruendt added eight kills. Calcaterra had five blocks and Harmon had four blocks.

Kaukauna 3, Appleton West 1

KAUKAUNA - After splitting the first two sets, the Ghosts came up big late to win the Fox Valley Association matchup.

Kaukauna posted a 25-21, 21-25, 25-19 and 25-19 victory.

The Ghosts were led by Mason Tienor with 23 kills and Zach Voet with nine, while Jacob Acord added 32 assists. Acord and Jade Breckheimer had two aces each, while Breckheimer had 15 digs, Acord six digs and Tienor and Acord three blocks each.

Appleton North 3, Kimberly 1

KIMBERLY - The Lightning defeated the Papermakers 29-27, 21-25, 25-12, 25-21.

Gavin Tate and Nathan Ramus led Appleton North with 15 and 11 kills, respectively. Alex Ramus had a team-high 23 digs. Connor Cantrell had 45 assists. Bennett Kornaus nearly had a double-double with nine kills and nine digs.

Kimberly was led by Kevin McGrath with 28 digs. Aaron Nelson had 23 assists and 18 digs. Brady Koester led Kimberly with eight kills and he also had eight digs.

GIRLS VOLLEYBALL

Freedom 3, Two Rivers 0

FREEDOM - Rachel Koss had 27 assists, while Sydney Bartels and Eva Wall added eight kills each as the Irish cruised to the nonconference win.

Koss and Kierstin Kriewaldt added four aces apiece.

Wittenberg-Birnamwood 3, Shiocton 0

WITTENBERG - The Chargers swept the Chiefs 25-13, 25-8, 25-18 to improve their record to 9-4 overall.

London Metropulos had 15 kills and five service aces, and Reese Rogowski had 10 kills, 13 digs and three aces for W-B.

Lilly Betry added 12 assists and three aces, and Payton Foster had 17 assists and five aces.

“It was a great way to start conference play,” W-B coach Becky Rew said. “We did well with serve receive, which has been a problem for us, and served well the first two sets. We also did a good job of moving our attacks around which allowed us to score on many of them.”

BOYS SOCCER

Kimberly 2, Appleton East 1

APPLETON - The Papermakers’ Carson Piette headed in the game-winner at the 60th minute off an assist from Jordan Dietzler.

Kimberly controlled the tempo of the match early in the first half, which led to Eli Rudolph’s goal in the sixth minute.

Appleton East tied the match in the 29th minute.

The Papermakers outshot the Patriots 12-7 as Cooper Hoffman led Kimberly with two saves. The Papermakers had six corner kicks to East’s three.

Fox Valley Lutheran 3, Clintonville 0

APPLETON - Lincoln Fleming, Reed Curtis and Mason Londre scored to lead the Foxes to the win over the Truckers.

Londre and Curtis also had assists.

Matthew Callaway had one save for Fox Valley Lutheran.

St. Mary Catholic 3, Lourdes Academy/Valley Christian 0

OSHKOSH - The Zephyrs defeated the Knights on goals by Emiliano Romero, Grant Bergstrom and AJ Groppel.

Kieran Barrientos had an assist on Bergstrom’s goal.

St. Mary Catholic, which is now 4-0-1 on the season, got three saves from Hunter Schreiber.
