Tuesday's HS roundup: Kerens, Lantaigne lead Winnacunnet girls soccer

HAMPTON - Riley Kerens and Mia Lantaigne each scored two goals as the Winnacunnet High School girls soccer team defeated Spaulding, 6-1 on Tuesday in a Division I contest.

Maitri Clifford and Taylor Burness also scored for the Warriors, who improved to 5-4.

Spaulding is 1-6.

Marisa Reuss, Clifford, Kerens and Burness all had an assist. WHS goalie Kate Gagne had three saves.

MANCHESTER - Zoe Wisniewski scored two goals to lead the Green Wave to this Division I win.

Anique Poulin also scored for the Green Wave, while Joci Faasen had an assist.

Dover freshman goalie Alexa Garcia recorded her first career shutout, and Isabel Carter, Sarah Bastille, Emeline Friend-Gray, Wisniewski and Faasen all played well defensively.

BEDFORD - Haley Coombs had eight saves in goal for the Clippers in this Division I loss.

Morgan Ruhnke, Avery Timerman and Charlotte Hackett played well on defense.

St. Thomas Aquinas 2

CLAREMONT - Ella Pottle and Maddie Karsonovich each scored a goal for St. Thomas Aquinas in this Division III win, as the Saints handed Stevens its first loss this season.

St. Thomas is now 8-0-1.

DOVER - Lula Wamberg and Fenway Smith each recorded hat tricks to lead PCA to the Division IV win.

GRAY, Maine - Keira Alessi scored a goal for Traip Academy in this Class C South loss.

Lilly Stuart had 12 saves for the Rangers.

DOVER - St. Thomas Aquinas' Angus Forman scored the game-winning goal in overtime in this Division III matchup.

Owen Simas also scored for the Saints.

MANCHESTER - Hunter Perry's two goals led the Bobcats to this Division II win.

Andres Alcocer had a goal and assist, and Ethan Brewer and Lukas Huegel each had a goal. Perry and Alcocer also had an assist.

Oyster River goalie Kyle Butts had eight saves.

KENNEBUNK, Maine - Graham Pruyne, Milo Closson and Jason Singer each scored a goal for Marshwood (7-1).

Marshwood goalie Andrew Perry had five saves.

SOMERSWORTH - William Sneddon and Corbin Wood both played well for Somersworth in this Division IV loss.

Somersworth goalie Nahum Yoder recorded 18 saves.

ROCHESTER - Zane Lepere led Winnacunnet with two goals, and Cam Sakelarios and Tim Kollmorgen each scored for the Warriors in this Division I win.

Kollmorgen, Mike Smith and Adyn O'Riordan picked up assists for Winnacunnet, and goalie Tanyon Ziolkowski had six saves.

Cameron Brochu and Nate Devine each scored a goal for Spaulding. Spaulding goalie Eli Benjamin played well.

AMHERST - Mia Edwards scored a goal late in the first half, assisted by Sam Ruel, in this Division I loss.

Portsmouth goalie Samara Buck had four saves, while Tali Burke and Audrey Walsh played well defensively.

NORTHWOOD - Emma St. Cyr had 29 assists and Maddy True had 22 digs for St. Thomas in this Division II loss.

Individual scores were 20-25, 25-19, 27-25, 18-25, 15-12.

Brigid O'Connor had 19 digs, and Maggie Hurley had 11 kills in the loss.

GOLF

Portsmouth wins three-team match

WOLFEBORO - Medalist Boden Driscoll shot a 2-over-par 38 at Kingswood Country Club, leading the Clippers to this three-team win.

Portsmouth had a team score of 217, defeating Kingswood (237) and Kennett (244).

Jackson Barnes shot a 42 for the Clippers, while teammates Cole Struble (45), Eli Poteet (46), Briggs Williams (46) and Cal Rothstein (46) all contributed.

St. Thomas Aquinas second in four-team match

AMHERST - St. Thomas Aquinas' Will Mollica shot a 2-over-par 38 to help the Saints finish second at Amherst Country Club.

Bow won with a team score of 190, while St. Thomas Aquinas (199), Pembroke (218) and Milford (231) placed second through fourth, respectively.

Lindsay Butkus shot a 39 for the Saints, while Cam Cunio and Rolly Edgerly each had a 40. Connor Gray (42), Carlos Guenard (44), Joe Mollica (47) and Fin De Tolla (49) gave strong performances for the Saints.
