Tulsa King has shared a big season two update, following showrunner Terence Winter’s exit from the show.
The Paramount+ series starring Sylvester Stallone launched back in 2022 and was renewed for season two after just three episodes had aired.
However, after season one’s run, it was announced that Winter was stepping down from his role, due to "creative differences" with the show’s creator Taylor Sheridan.

It has been over a year since Winter quit Tulsa King, but now it has been reported by sources including Deadline that he won’t be replaced, with the show deciding to not have a traditional showrunner for the production of season two.
Instead, the show will hire a director/executive producer to oversee the project, with a deal for this individual still being finalised.
As a result of this decision, Winter has been rehired on the series as a writer, as well as continuing his role as an executive producer. Following the writers strike, Winter’s schedule changed, which allowed him to return to the show.
Last year, Sheridan, who is also the showrunner for Yellowstone, was asked about the showrunner shake-up in an interview with The Hollywood Reporter.

He said: "When I quit acting, I decided that I am going to tell my stories my way, period. If you don’t want me to tell them, fine. Give them back and I’ll find someone who does – or I won’t, and then I’ll read them in some freaking dinner theatre.
"But I won’t compromise. There is no compromising."
Winter revealed in a 2022 interview with Deadline that the pair had differing ideas about what they wanted the life of Stallone’s character Dwight to look like.
Sheridan envisaged a "75-year-old kind of low-level man in the mob" who had "never been to prison, he didn’t have a family and he got sent out to Kansas City as a reward for a lifetime of service."
Meanwhile, Winter wanted to "explore the idea of a 75-year-old man in the twilight of his years who’s only got a limited amount of time left, who wants to make something of his life."
