Tuolumne casino adds trampolines, ninja course and more for patrons too young to gamble

Black Oak Casino Resort has a new section for children, with trampolines, simulated sports and other fun.

Named Elevate, it opened Dec. 20 at the Tuolumne County destination.

Patrons pay varying amounts to book sessions. They can play dodgeball, toss an ax at a target or run a ninja warrior course. They can kick a soccer ball or swing a baseball bat in front of video screens that mimic real games.

“Ready to elevate your excitement?” Black Oak asked in a Facebook post. “... It’s time to take fun to new heights!”

Elevate’s hours are 2 to 9 p.m. Wednesdays through Fridays and 11 a.m. to 9 p.m. on weekends. Booking and other details are at www.blackoakcasino.com/play/elevatepark.

Black Oak is near the former lumber town of Tuolumne, about 10 miles east of Sonora and 60 miles from Modesto. It is owned by the Tuolumne Band of Me-Wuk Indians.

Black Oak launched in 2001 with slot machines and a small restaurant. It has since added more gambling and dining options, along with a hotel and RV park, live music, bowling and golf.
