TUPATALK: Another BHS spring athlete joins ranks of All-Staters

Maddie Shelley has joined the growing number of Bartlesville High All-State players from the spring season.

Earlier this week, it was confirmed Zoe McCabe of the Lady Brin soccer team and Brandon O’Rourke and Nathan Dreher of the Bruin soccer team were all named to their respective Oklahoma Soccer Coaches Association All-State teams.

Shelley has been selected for the Oklahoma Coaches Association All-State Girls Tennis Team. She is just one of 10 girls from throughout the state,in all classes, to earn the honor.

Shelley’s only loss her senior season took place in the state championship final — and that was a three-setter.

Although some odd circumstances prevented her sophomore and junior seasons from displaying the full breadth of her skill in high school competition, Shelley still will go down as one of the great Lady Bruin No. 1 singles netters.
