Tupelo Honey southern-style restaurant announces Indy opening date
Southern-style eatery Tupelo Honey Southern Kitchen & Bar will open in downtown Indianapolis on April 4.
The restaurant, at 320 S. Alabama St., is the first in the state for the North Carolina-based chain touting scratch-made dishes, responsible sourcing, and an air of southern hospitality.

The brand started as a small farm-to-table restaurant in downtown Asheville and grew as the city burgeoned.
The menu – spanning all-day brunch to dinner – will feature a modern twist on Southern favorites, including bone-in fried chicken seasoned with a “bee dust” signature blend of spices; shrimp and grits; a New Orleans-inspired roast beef debris; and fried chicken and waffles.
Cocktails include its twist on a Paloma, four different mimosas, and six variations of Bloody Marys. (A large “Queen Mary” contains a house-made mix and pickled jalapeños, green beans and cherry tomatoes.) Half of the 20 beers on tap will come from Hoosier brewers.
Diners at its 3 p.m.-6 p.m. weekday happy hour will be able to score the likes of chicken and waffle minis, fried green tomatoes, crispy Brussels sprouts and pimento cheese dip for $5.

The 5,500-square-foot spot will be in the CityWay development and include a 1,200-square-foot outdoor patio.
CityWay also welcomed the opening of taco and tequila emporium Agave & Rye in February.
Tupelo Honey customers can order online, with in-store pick-up service and delivery.
The restaurant will operate from 11 a.m. to 9 p.m. Monday through Thursday, from 11 a.m. to 10 p.m. Friday, from 10 a.m. to 10 p.m. Saturday and from 10 a.m. to 9 p.m. Sunday.
