A turkey gobbled in response to a patrol car siren during a traffic stop in Washington’s Kittitas County on April 23, echoing back the sound of the alarm.

The bird’s unexpected impersonation was captured on video by Washington State Patrol (WSP) Trooper Thomas Megargle.

WSP’s local public information officer, Trooper John Bryant, who tweeted a photo showing two turkeys approaching Megargle’s vehicle, said the encounter occurred during a traffic stop on State Route 10 between the towns of Ellensburg and Cle Elum. “Some of the locals came out to check out Trooper Megargle’s patrol car,” Bryant joked.
