Turlock theater’s new season brings popular comedians, Grammy-winning musical artists

Music and comedy are coming your way, via the Turlock Community Theatre’s upcoming season.

Tickets go on sale at 10 a.m. Friday, June 23, for the venue’s 2023-24 lineup, which begins in September.

There’s also one more show left for the current season at the Turlock theater: blues-rock performer Kenny Wayne Shepherd with his band. That show is set for 7:30 p.m. Aug. 6, with tickets at $39-$99.

Following is a look at the artists slated for the new season. All shows begin at 7:30 p.m.

Five For Fighting, Sept. 10: John Ondrasik is the songwriter and performer known as Five For Fighting, best known for his chart-topping single “Superman (It’s Not Easy).” Tickets are $29-$59.

Rumours: The Ultimate Fleetwood Mac Tribute Show, Sept. 16: Rumours re-creates Fleetwood Mac’s shows from 1975-1987 with period-accurate equipment and costumes. $22-$49.

Piff the Magic Dragon, Sept. 22: The comedian and magician brings his new show for 2023 with Mr Piffles, his performing Chihuahua. The comic broke out after appearing on “America’s Got Talent” and has a Las Vegas residency at the Flamingo Hotel and Casino. $29-$65.

Los Lonely Boys, Oct. 5: This group plays a mix of rock, Texas blues, brown-eyed soul, country and Tejano music. It’s best known for the Grammy-winning song “Heaven.” $39-$69.

Paula Poundstone, Oct. 19: Known for her observational humor and spontaneous wit, Poundstone has several HBO specials. $29-$69.

Christopher Cross, Oct. 22: This pop singer’s 1980 self-titled debut album won five Grammy Awards, including Record of the Year (for the single “Sailing”), Album of the Year, Song of the Year (also “Sailing”), and Best New Artist. $39-$69.

Marty Stuart and His Fabulous Superlatives, Oct. 28: Country singer Stuart is a five-time Grammy winner and is in the Country Music Hall of Fame. $39-$69, with a VIP package at $200.

James Garner’s Tribute to Johnny Cash, May 18: Musician Garner celebrates the life and music of Cash, re-creating his biggest hits along with stories and personal anecdotes. $29-$59.
