And for anyone looking to elevate their kitchen aesthetic with practical organization, the TikTok account @hometalk has an easy solution using plastic picture frames from the dollar store.
The “world’s largest DIY community” with 1.1 million followers on TikTok shares how to instantly transform a drawer into a spice rack using inexpensive plastic picture holders.
@hometalk describes how to easily and affordably assemble the spice drawer in only four steps:
Purchase around eight clear plastic frames from the dollar store (could be more or less depending on the drawer size).
Remove the inserts.
Flip the frames and lay them face up in rows, side-by-side.
Place spice jars and bottles on the newly created “racks.”

@hometalk’s hack appears to be in direct response to many of the popular #spicedrawer videos on TikTok. They show influencers using and linking very aesthetic (and purportedly much more expensive) spice organizers. For instance, a similar clear acrylic plastic spice rack on Amazon costs around $24.
“I paid $20 for a spice organizer when it’s literally exactly this could’ve spent $5 at dollar tree,” admitted @treasuretogether.
Many TikTokers aptly observed that the organization hack could be employed in many other ways as well.
“Mind blown. I will use this for my makeup pallets,” noted @leechillogexprealty.
“This would work for craft paints as well,” added @tinami323.
Other TikTok accounts also shared ways to create drawer spice racks from different dollar store products. For instance, TikToker @bargain.bethany has a step-by-step tutorial on how to transform a Dollar Tree step shelf into a spice organizer.
