Tuscaloosa Public Library Offers eCards For Teachers, Students
TUSCALOOSA, AL. — The Tuscaloosa Public Library has been looking for ways to evolve throughout the ongoing COVID-19 pandemic and a new resource is now available to keep those in the community reading.
The TPL is currently offering an eCard in an effort to serve patrons safely while also strengthening ties with area educational institutions.
“This new TPL eCard is really beneficial to the community because patrons can gain access to tremendous online resources for free, without leaving their homes,” TPL spokesman Vince Bellofatto told Patch. “It is a gateway of discovery to our actual library locations as well.”
The eCard is available to teachers and students over 16 years old who don't have a traditional TPL library card. The library says the eCard is designed with parents, teachers, and college students in mind, allowing both on-campus and remote-learning students and staff to apply online for access to all of TPL’s online resources.
Bellofatto said some of the library's more popular resources include online tutorials and training with Lynda.com, access to digital eBooks and audio books in the OverDrive/Libby app, language training with Rocket Languages, video streaming with Kanopy, and other offerings
