Tuscaloosa weather: Potential for tornadoes, hail, damaging winds Wednesday
Expect heavy rains and tornado-scale winds on Wednesday in the Tuscaloosa area.
Holly Allen, a meteorologist for the National Weather Service in Birmingham, said the most serious threat associated with Wednesday’s expected storms will be high, straight-line winds as some gusts could reach 80 mph.
“These damaging winds won’t be much different than winds from a small tornado,” Allen said.
